Square Block Monster Birthday card (Lawn Fawn stamps)

Hi Crafty Friends,

This card was a bit of fun to make and the small squares are a lot easier than it looks. I made the square background by gluing 1cm strips of bright cardstock onto white card. Once the whole white square card had lines of colours I cut off any overhanging strips. Then I cut the horizontal stripes vertically in 1cm strips so I had lots of lines of squares. Then I added them to another piece of card randomly trying to make sure no two square colours were next to each other. I wonder if any of you followed that lol? I know I didn't get it when I saw it in a magazine, I had to see a couple of photos along the way to figure it out. If you do want to try it and didn't follow the instructions, let me know and I'll do it again with a photo tutorial along with it :)

Denim butterfly flower card

Hi Crafty Friends,

I love this old Prima patterned paper, I have had it forever! Does anyone remember it? I scruffed up the edges, added some butterflies and heat embossed a gold sentiment onto it. There's so much going on on the paper itself that I didn't need to add too much.

Girly Thank you card (Tiddly Inks image)

Hi Crafty Friends,

This is my last card for the day and perhaps my favourite. I love this gorgeous image and Christy from Tiddly Inks was giving it away free the other day, I hope you got your free digi too. I coloured her up with copics and used some glossy accents on the flower centres. I inked up the background with oxide inks, lightly sprayed water and then embossed it with my WRMK next level wave embossing folder. To tie the sentiment in with the framed image I added some black cardstock to the centre of a white scrap of card then doodled a similar frame. I used my Lawn Fawn sentiment stamps and dies to finish it off.

Happy Birthday to Ewe! card (DigiStamp Boutique image)

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have been wanting to use this gorgeous image from DSB for ages and I just hadn't got around to it, it's a great one for practicing wood colouring lol. To keep the wooden theme going I added it to a sheet of wood/flower paper but I think it may have gone better with a nice simple bright card instead, there's always next time huh hehe?

Congrats Panda card (Kitty Bee Designs image)

Hi Crafty Friends,

This is the first time I've used a Kitty Bee Designs image, isn't this panda a sweetie? I created some background paper with my oxide inks and water, I used my stitched square die as an embosser (by using the embosser plates instead of cutting plates) just for a little extra in the background. I made the scene with some chipboard fence inked black.

Candy Stripes Summer Birthday card (Crafts & Me/Hannah Lynn image)

Hi Crafty Friends,

I've been MIA for more than a week which is very unlike me, I do love my blogging. I have been creating, some cards for magazines so I can't post them but here's a few I've created just for fun, hope you like them.

This first one is a very summery card using scraps of yellow, pink and blue cardstock. I used double sided tape all over a square of white cardstock then added strips of the colour cardstocks to it and then turned it over to trim off all the overhang. I used to think crafters worked out the sizes etc that they needed for strips like this but it's so much easier to use a really long strip, tape/glue it down and then cut the extra bits off. I also created a rectangle and did the same.  The strip at the bottom was left overs - I just mounted it onto yellow cardstock too for another element. I inked around everything in pink ink. This card looks so much lovelier in real life. You can find the image at Crafts and Me (artist Hannah Lynn).

Hi Crafty Friends,

Oh My Gosh, I just love this little pirate bear and how he coloured up, he's so cute! You can find him at Bugaboo. I have used these background papers before and was surprised at how easily the card came together - well it happened again! I was muddling around with all sorts of papers and then I remembered I had this paper somewhere in my box of boys papers so off I went hunting and I'm so glad I did.
