Birthday Boy with teddy (Bugaboo image)

Hi crafty friends,

I had a lot of fun playing around with creating backgrounds. Firstly for the "squares" paper at the back I used black and two shades of teal to make it and it's so easy. Cut 1cm strips of the 3 papers, glue them down onto a scrap piece of paper in sequence and butting up right next to each other. Once you've covered as much as you need, turn it to the side and then cut 1cm strips again which will give you 1cm cubes. Then add the strips of cubes to another scrap of paper in an alternate sequence until you've covered again what you need. Then cut off any excess overhang so you have a perfect rectangle or square. I mounted it onto black cardstock.

I used a sweet little boy from Bugaboo then before printing him out, I added a background stripey paper from Polkadoodles and then using my Word editing section I added a blurry green shadow around him. I think it turned out quite interesting, something a little different.

Hi Crafty Friends,

Here's something a little different from me which I created for a magazine publication (Love Cardmaking Australia issue 17). The theme was to create 8 quick and easy cards. I used a gorgeous Maddison flower from Flourish with a Bling, my company that's closing down very soon. This weekend our 10 pack of assorted flowers are only $1.

Mother's Day Sprite card (Aurora Wings image)

Hi crafty friends,

Aurora Wings are giving us this gorgeous sprite to play with for free (not sure if it is still available), isn't that so generous of them, the image is so sweet! I loved using this colour combo, I always love using black as it seems to make the rest of the card pop. I used an old Fiskars grass border punch.

Hello Fairy (Lawn Fawn stamps)

Hi crafty friends,

For this card I used papers and stamps from Lawn Fawn. I faux stitched on the sentiment, which was cut out using my new Brother Scan n Cut (loving it). I added some Nuvo drops and this was a quick and easy card. I cut out the sentiment 3 times and glued each letter together to give it a lot more depth than just one layer.

Kids on a Tyre Swing card (Polkadoodles image)

Hi Crafty Friends,

Polkadoodles have a new challenge just started on their blog, I hope you'll join in, you don't have to use one of their products but it'd be lovely if you do.

Their challenges are always Anything Goes but the DT are given a theme and this time it's Outdoor Fun. I chose this incredibly cute image along with a sky background paper (I used the image in a PNG format so I could add the black & white image to the sky paper before printing then colouring them with my Copics). I change the colour of the Polkadoodles polka dot papers to any colour I choose before printing with my Word editing options.

For my card I have used the following Polkadoodles products:

Papers (polka dot and background sky) - Winnie Celebrations 1 - papers 2

All about the sentiment (Polkadoodles sentiment)

Hi Crafty Friends,

Polkadoodles have a new challenge just started on their blog. Their challenges are always anything goes but they give the DT a theme and this time it is to focus on the sentiment. So I used one of the sentiments from Polkadoodles Winnie Special Moments. Before I printed it I added a pink shadow to the words. I made the background with distress oxide inks and black and white paint splatters with some added doodling for fun.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Scrapbook Boutique - I was inspired by the black & white dots (top left photo), the flowers (top right photo) and the pink shade in the bottom left photo.
Simon Says Stamp (Mon) - inspired by a song - (I think You're..) Amazing by George Michael
Word Art Wednesday -  anything goes

Have a great day,
