Big Hugs card

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have been having so much fun creating my own backgrounds lately, I am just loving using stencils and texture paste.

I again used a stencil and texture paste here and once the paste was dry I inked over it all in Oxide Ink Broken China then spritzed some water over it. Once that was dry I inked over the raised areas with my embossing ink pad then added clear embossing powder to give it a clear shine. I die cut the hot air balloon 3 times, once in white, yellow and pink to give it height - the white on the bottom then pink and yellow then the opposite parts on top. I went over the entire balloon with Mod Podge for gloss. I heat embossed the sentiment and die cut it out using my Lawn Fawn sentiment and die sets. I didn't take much care when I was inking the background as I thought I would be trimming it down but I decided a liked it fading out into white so left it as is.

Well that's it from me today but it's only just after midday here in Oz and I have some time on my hands to craft this arvo so never say never lol.

Red and Black Male Birthday card

Hi Crafty Friends,

I'm back with another masculine card, I've been trying to add more masculine cards to my stash as about 1 in 30 cards I make are for boys/men lol. I used a sunburst stencil and texture paste for this card. Once the paste was dry I inked the Fired Brick distress ink on the bottom level then placed the stencil back on to protect the red while I inked the raised areas in black.

We mermaid for each other mixed media card (Lawn Fawn stamps)

Hi Crafty Friends,

I had some fun playing with my distress inks again, I think they go perfectly with an underwater scene. I used some gorgeous stamps from Lawn Fawn. I have the dies too so it was easy to die cut them all out and then move them around on the card until I was happy with the placement of everything.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

As you like it - Fave skin/fur colours - I use Copics E50, E51, E53 plus a little blush on their cheeks using E93 as this combo is quite warm, it gives them a little bit of a tan more than a pink glow.
Crafty Friends - use summer colours

Paper Creator's Crafts - bright and bold
Ribbon Girl - use any image

Penny Farthing Male Birthday card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Here's something a little different from me. I have been watching YouTube videos of Jennifer Maguire and she has the most amazing ideas! This card was inspired by one of her posts.

I taped off the white cardstock the width of my tape on each side so I would have a perfect square frame (without having to measure anything!) then I used my new Distress Oxide Ink in Fossilized Amber all over the centre of the white paper. I added white Perfect Pearls after inking to give it a gorgeous gold type shimmer then embossed the card panel with my new Wave embossing folder from WRMK. I heat embossed the bicycle with bronze embossing powder and also scribbled some embossing ink then bronze powder to make the ground. I used my new Lawn Fawn sentiment stamps and dies for the sentiment so it would match. I hope my hubby doesn't read this post to see all my new goodies I just bought at a recent craft show and online shopping hehe!

Hexagon Rainbow Mother's Day card No.2

Hi Crafty Friends,

Here's the opposite Mother's Day card to the one I just showed. How great is it when you can create 3 cards from one sheet of inked up/die cut paper? I love this one best but I was really happy with how both turned out considering I didn't like my ink blending on the thin watercolour paper I used. Once I'd peeled off the die cut the hexagons were all left in the die so I put down a double sided adhesive sheet onto cardstock then put the die cut over the top and pushed each hexagon onto the adhesive so they stuck, it was so easy! I had to find a couple of the little bottom and top hexagons. Then I added glitter to the white adhesive bits. You can see in the second photo how the two cards look side on. This one was my favourite of the two so we gave it to my Mother-in-law who loved it.

Hexagon Rainbow Mother's Day card No.1

Hi Crafty Friends,

Here's my 2nd card for tonight and I made 2 cards using this same paper/die cut - the other is coming up and I used the negative (or positive bits, not sure which I'd say was which hehe). I was playing around with my new distress inks on thin watercolour paper and I really wasn't impressed with my first attempt. I almost threw this paper out but decided to die cut it instead with my hexagon die. I love how it looked when it wasn't all one straight piece. I also added a feather die cut, sequins and heat embossed a Mother's Day sentiment on vellum. I added the hexagon die cut to a double sided adhesive sheet and then added glitter to all the hexagon centres to look like glitter paper underneath.
