Handmade Hexagon background Baby card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Another way of using up my scraps of paper pads is to die cut hexagons and glue them all onto the background, I love this look too, I'm so addicted to hexagons at the moment! I think this is a Kaisercraft baby paper pad, are the papers beautiful?

Welcome baby bear scene card (Bugaboo image)

Hi Crafty Friends,

I made this card for a magazine commission which was baby themed. I inked up the background sky with distress oxide inks and used Lawn Fawn die cuts to create the grass and flower background. The cute little image is from Bugaboo and I punched out a few little butterflies to finish the card.

Let's Celebrate - Masked Fairy card (Faery Ink Designs image)

Hi crafty friends,

How lovely is this beautiful image from Faery Ink Designs? They were giving it away free (may still be doing so, click on their name to find out more). I used a background paper from The Paper Shelter and added her (in black & white) to the background before printing it (using a PNG format). I added some Wink of Stella and also some Glossy Accents to her wings. I made the background patterned papers with a new stencil and some Distress Oxide Inks.

My flourish is from Flourish with a Bling - which is my company that is sadly closing down very soon - great news is that we're selling everything off as cheap as it can get! Some items are only $1! This flourish is called the Luke flourish, we have very unique items that we designed ourselves so I hope you'll go check the store out, we ship worldwide.

Birthday Boy with teddy (Bugaboo image)

Hi crafty friends,

I had a lot of fun playing around with creating backgrounds. Firstly for the "squares" paper at the back I used black and two shades of teal to make it and it's so easy. Cut 1cm strips of the 3 papers, glue them down onto a scrap piece of paper in sequence and butting up right next to each other. Once you've covered as much as you need, turn it to the side and then cut 1cm strips again which will give you 1cm cubes. Then add the strips of cubes to another scrap of paper in an alternate sequence until you've covered again what you need. Then cut off any excess overhang so you have a perfect rectangle or square. I mounted it onto black cardstock.

I used a sweet little boy from Bugaboo then before printing him out, I added a background stripey paper from Polkadoodles and then using my Word editing section I added a blurry green shadow around him. I think it turned out quite interesting, something a little different.

Cat in a Hot Air Balloon card (Polkadoodles image)

Hi Crafty Friends,

Polkadoodles have a new challenge just started on their blog, I hope you'll join in, you don't have to use one of their products but it'd be lovely if you do. I'm loving creating with their gorgeous images, papers and sentiments.

For my card I have used the following Polkadoodles products:

Fuzzypuffs - Jasper Balloon

I created the sky with my Distress Oxide ink (Broken China I think) and then sprayed it with water. I fussy cut the kitty's head and all the little banners to have them paper pieced on top of the image. I popped them all up on foam tape.

A Birthday Gondola Ride card (The Paper Shelter image)

Hi crafty friends,

I had a lot of fun creating this card. I fussy cut The Paper Shelter images out and then used my oxide inks to create the background. This was a bit of an experiment with my embossing ink pen to scribble lines then add some white embossing powder to create a wave effect. I accidentally smudged the funny little seagulls I doodled on, I think they were a mistake to start with but, I can usually find a way to cover errors up but there was nothing I could do to fix this. So we'll say the big seagull is travelling so fast he's leaving a trail lol.
